The other vehicle is a 03 Cobra(Terminator) with a 2.3L Whipple, full return fuel system, all the other supporting mods, running 600whp on pump gas. There is not much room for kids (2 kids total) except for an fun ride. No mini vans and all these things seem to keep pointing me to the damn Tundra. The wife drives a Jeep compass so not quite enough to get the work stuff done.

I did just stop by the Dodge dealer on my way home and test drove a ecodiesel. I have to say I was impressed with that little engine. Around town it's MORE than enough but getting on the freeway it fell on it's face. The 21.8 avg mpg on the dash from test drives and people beating on it with 18 miles on the odometer was impressive. It was not a Laramie trim and felt cheap like the other guy said on here. For $51k I think they are smoking crack. On the other hand they were cutting $13k right off the top. If I can talk them into $20k off of a Laramie this could be a serious option. It's a long shot and I'm not really that interested but I think it will be fun to see how far I can talk them down.

You couldn't give me a piece of crap Ford.

The Tundra is going to be redesigned very shortly. There's talk the new Tundra will have aluminum panels and will have an optional Hybrid option. Toyota knows they have a fuel mileage issue and they are redesigning the truck for better fuel economy.

+1 I've had both the Ford and the Chrysler and I'm not trying to start anything but they both were in the shop ALOT!!! I loved my Tundra but the MPG did suck and it didn't get the job done pulling our trailer so i finally landed on a 17' Silverado Duramax. This truck is on a level so far above Ford and Chrysler it's not even funny, Toyota's are great but the fit and finish are not even close, I love this thing. We have the 17' Tacoma as well now and the difference is night and day. I get an average of 16-18 MPG city and over 20 on the highway so the 910 ft lbs and 445 HP don't kill you like they do in the Tundra.

People talking about diesel MPG conveniently always leave out the part about diesel costing somewhere on the order of 50-80 cents more per gallon than 87 octane depending on where you live. Unless you are talking about range on a single tank, talking about MPG isn't so great in regards to price.

Unless he needs to prove how manly he is to his neighbors then it might be a good choice.

It has rear disc brakes and a bigger bed, after all!

The Honda Odyssey is amazing, mini van or otherwise. Riding in one of those is like sitting on my couch doing 70mph on the freeway.

If I turned my wife's vagina into a clown car and had half dozen kids, I'd rock the hell out of a Honda Odyssey..
