    A couple weeks ago I had the unfortunate experience of shredding my diff. This was post re-gear to 4.56s. (I did abuse it and it was installed properly). In any case, I have the currie rear being built as we speak. I will post here to let you know my experience and the outcome. I didn't see much on here so it'll be a fun convo.

    Getting a third member as well to include 4.56 motive gears, ARB air locker and 1350 u-joint yokes.

    yes it's burning a hole in my pocket but you only live once right?!

    since you are up to speed on re gearing, all i want is old school posi traction for my 2WD. i want constant 2 WD not this auto LSD that somehow uses the rear brakes to simulate 2 WD. does this exist for 3rd gens? 50 years ago i went to chevy and bought a 3rd member 4:56 posi traction for my 348 59 chevy, simple back then.

    It’s far from “bolt in” but its an adventure. I’m stupid so I upgraded to 3.5” axle tubes, rear truss, and doing disk BBK swap too.

    Just so you know now. The slip yoke in the stock driveshaft isn’t long enough to accommodate a crossover u-joint. You will have to extend the second half of your driveshaft or change out the 1350 yoke to a flange yoke.

    my man, you have got the nicest setup going. I might be picking your brain a lot in the next couple weeks. I'm going with stock shock mounts because I really just can't afford another upgrade but I know I'm missing an opportunity. Is there no way to get just an upgrade slip yoke to mate things up? That was my original plan so as to keep the 1350 strength.

    Yeah, like i said. Just get the second half of the DS lengthened. Any driveshaft shop can do it.
    And you can use a 1330/1350 crossover u-joint on the last 1330 joint on your stock driveshaft and remove the last flange.

    I think I'm going to go with the larger slip yoke. right now I need to get the lower shock mounts dialed so they can compensate for the expedition springs. Currently, I think the Foxes are my limiting factor for droop, so I'm going to position the mounts higher than stock.

    Nope. They measured, I left and drove around all day in front wheel drive, and picked it up at the end of the day. Most driveshaft places can turn things around same day. Best they get your measurements anyway because every leaf pack is different.
