Cool man, didn't really figure you had aspirations for LT. If I had the coin I would just LT it in stages instead of wasting money on an interim step that isn't really needed. When you say with the rear that you plan to link it or have an LT leaf pack? If you plan to just leaf the rear then why buy a mid travel set up instead of just getting an LT rear? I did get my mid travel kit initially as I wasn't sure what the capability of the TC kit could provide with 12 inches of functional travel, but if I knew what I know now and have a 3.5 kit up front I would have just LT'd the rear the first time. Which sadly I think there is a community of us that bought the TC midtravel kit thinking we would get more than we do out of it, but no one really had a review of it at the time. I strive to steer people away if mid travel ISNT their end game. The thing is if you just drop in the bolt on sua...you will only get like 9.5 inches of travel in the rear which isn't much without a shock relocation. Then if you relocate, you are ideally paying similar to getting an LT kit installed although that is slightly pricier to get the hangers done right.

Im not familiar at all with the expo pack as I don't think they make one for sua since they are designed completely different function wise. I do however have the HD springs in mine to handle more weight. Deaver springs will settle and sag...I would prefer to have the HD springs instead of the light duty ones as they will sag with decent weight on them from what I have seen.

Currently I have my midtravel on, but I have all my components to swap to the DMZ LT kit...just got to scrounge up the remaining funds for its actual install with king 16 inch triples. I cant wait to have a real rear though.

Sounds like a decent plan then...with 5-7 years a lot can happen so I would try out the archive offering and see how it goes! At a minimum SUA tends to ride nicer.

No problem man, I cant guarantee that what I have is the same pack that you are getting, but should be similar in its function and characteristic. Im sure many folks in the same boat would appreciate your thoughts as well.

I am using the archive hangers with spring over leafs right now and it is the best setup I have had yet. I have a mix leaf spring I created myself but I am getting 12.5” of full bump travel with it 5.5” up and 7” down and it rides like dream. I can easily get 14” of travel in articulation scenarios as well.

If you plan to really go all out long travel and be hitting big terrain at high speed then skip archive and tc type kits and just go dmz or links but if you just want an all round good system without the custom fabrication cost and hassle the archive setup is a good kit

You would probably be fine with the mid travel kit. DMZ only has the one kit to my knowledge which is a long travel kit. The difference is it moves the stock spring hangers further apart to accommodate a longer leaf spring pack. Longer leaf spring = more potential for travel. The Archive kit bolts into the stock location and moves the shackle pivot point a little but is still close to stock geometry meaning the leafe packs are going to be stock length (or very close to) for the most part and that 12-14" is pretty much the limit to your travel depending on the leaf pack you use.

@Jon64l and i installed the DMZ sua kit and bed cage this past weekend on my 3rd gen dcsb. very well buit and the parts fit great. absolutely zero complaints. Tim manufactures fantastic products. hardest part was the gas tank really.

Awesome to hear that another taco has this kit. I have had mine on for the past 4 years with 100's of offroad miles. I am on my second set of bushings.

Looks good so far. What diameter/wall thickness tube did you use for the crossmembers?

Ive read numerous times that 200lbs is the magic # with the dmz kit. Most of these comments were from double cabs. Ive come to understand that even though the AC isn’t much lighter the center of gravity is farther forward. I seem to get a lot more lift than advertised on different spring setups. Anybody with an access cab just wondering what sort of lift height you’re seeing. And if a little more weight would ride better than with the DC’s.
Also curious about a smooth body through bed. Might be kinda lame when spending that much cash to get to that point but only just recently understanding how bypasses even work. Not sure if i really need them. Kinda surprised price on smooth body with adjusters and bypasses wasnt too much more.
Dont push truck crazy hard but have changed the front end enough to not want to do the same to rear wallet wise. And im still oem extended length in front

Lol. So did it do better or worse without the 75lb wheel/Tire combo? Still have the same shock setup?

@JDawg562 was also thinking smooth body i might not have to space tires out as far since im only mid travel atm. 3.25” bs seem to work pretty well for you?

lol. Yup 8" 2.5 coilovers up front, 16" 2.5 smoothies in the rear and hydro bumps all around that's it. No bypasses or adjustment clickers.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/jdawg562s-long-travel-tacoma.327832/page-7#post-11435138

To explain more now that I'm off the phone. My older setup I had a stock main leaf and 2nd biggest, 1 1st gen tundra leaf and Wheelers 3 leaf AAL with overload removed. I put that together with the 16" shock, bed cage and it was like a mid travel rear set up I guess.
I installed the DMZ kit and wanted a little more lift to reuse my bed cage and lower shock axle mounts for 50/50 travel ~7.5" up(bump) and ~7.75" down(strapped) and to keep my front level with 50/50 up/down travel without a bro lean. So I got an AAL from Deaver for the DMZ pack. I have a full size steel floor jack, spare tire, tool box with heavy crap in it(6 ton jack stands, extra oil, extra coolant, spray paint, drills, ect.), in the cab: viair compressor 400p auto, Husky Mechanics Tool Set 111, another smaller tool box for mostly electrical stuff, ice chest when I go out.

Bypasses would be easier to tune and you can make a decent amount of adjustments while on the trail. The smoothies you have to take apart to make adjustments, but I learned how to tune shocks! The front I revalved 2 times and the rear 3 or 4 times. I'm stoked I learned how to tune them and proud how it preforms with what I have on it.

Not sure how the smoothies will fit. I have 4.75BS not sure if I had wheel spacers or not on there during the mid travel rear.

Sorry if some of this doesn't make sense getting sleepy...

No thats thats the info i was looking for much appreciated! So guesstimating 250
-350 something lbs with item listed. Kinda surprised you needed an extra leaf but now rereading you’re saying that had more to do with shock mounting points than weight.
I got the 3.25” bs because on your build I saw spidertrax listed but you’re saying you possibly ran the mt setup with bedcage and same shocks but possibly without any spacers. I imagine there would be rubbing there. Was just wondering if the smoothies could keep tires inboard a little. Try to do as much as possible myself as well so thats killer you’re doing the shock work yourself.
Seriously thnks for the reply. Tim sent me this picture but i dont see too many, or as many access cabs out there. Got me hyped on his ac cage which he said would soon be a product but I really like how you put the toolbox behind that’s pretty slick
