    Hey,
I just got my Tacoma this week and noticed the front door speakers have no highs coming from them, are these speakers being used just for BASS? Thanks for your time.

3rd gen tacomas have tweeters in the dash where the a-pillar meets the windshield. Doors are for mid-bass/bass.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Tacoma's stock speakers have a lot to be desired. In reality you dont really want highs coming from the lower doors. You want the soundstage at or near head level in front of you which you notice mostly from your tweeters.

Just upgraded my speakers to rockford fosgate, huge difference. I also put in some tweeters in my 3rd Gen, from the factory they are mid ranges on the dash they are not tweeters that is why there is no real definition to them. The rest of the speakers are tuned to the OEM factory radio, I installed all new HU and amp, replacing the speakers will help but remember they will still produce music tuned for the OEM speakers so slight improvement at best. My recommendation is to save and get a new system otherwise your just going to get a improved sound, dsp, time correction, bass plus, all those goodies can only be had with after market stereo but what a world of difference it will make trust me, hope this helped.
