I have a 2.5 rancho lift on the front of my Tacoma and a 1.5 block in the rear. I’m really not happy with the height I wanna get the full 3 inch lift. So I’m asking if I’m able to put a 1 inch spacer lift or a .5 lift up front to get the full 3 inch lift. Or is that just a dumb idea.

You may want to inform the forum of:

    1. how you intend to use the vehicle
    2. intent of suspension modifications to support (1.)
    3. desired tire size and travel in order to make (1. and 2.) work best

If you just want to lift the suspension because you like the looks (fair enough reason), then the least expensive, yet still safe means to get there is your best bet. Don't stack spacers. Maybe an AAL in the rear and a spacer in the from if your Rancho was a spring lift. Don't forget that a 3" change will require changes to the brake lines and drivelines to keep it safe. If you are adding larger and heavier wheels and tires you must compensate for them in some way - perhaps the way you drive, perhaps another modification.

    Good luck.

Well I wanna do some off-roading nothing too crazy tho. I do have 285/75-16 and I will be doing the cab mount chop soon. Just need somewhere where I can get the plates. I just want to level out the front with the rear because the rear is slightly higher than the front. I will post a pic.

Replace your Rancho shocks with something else. 5100s with OME springs, one of them does a 3 inch lift, is a cost effective way. Or get better coilovers. Get it all with your extended brake lines and what not. You’ve learned the lesson we call “buy once cry once.”

All these bilsteins I’m seeing are for 2nd gen Tacoma.. do they fit on 3rd gems as well. I’m seeing them on bilsteinlifts.com This is kinda a bummer for me considering I recently spent over 3k on the wheels, tires, the rancho lift kit and the labor to install all the parts.. and I was kinda disappointed that the height wasn’t to my liking. Same mistake I did with my previous Tacoma with the spacer lift.. I guess for me is buy twice cry twice..

That's a great stance. Don't touch it. So often "leveling" it actually gives it a bit of bro-lean....which looks like warmed over ass, IMO

Well I’m glad you like the stance. Makes me feel a lot better! Just need to fix my rubbing I have. Any idea where I can buy a plate to weld for the cmc?

No. All the CMC's I've seen are custom with the plates cut during the operation

You can CMC and then get the plates put on later. I have BAMF plates for when I can find someone to weld them.

Yes they have 3rd gen models as well. But I do like your stance as well. Good luck with your decision making!

A 1/4" top spacer plate will give a 1/2 lift up front. That will give you the full 3" you are looking for. 1" spacer would give another 2" up front. Would have problems adding that much.
