Got dynamat in floors and doors. Thinking of removing jump seats maybe hardwood plywood make the cab squared off for better organized storage dynamat that carpeted.

    Thoughts?

Small world - I'm working on something similar

Mostly because I need a solid way to anchor a heavy enclosure

I wouldn't bother with a damper unless using something thin with minimal anchor points...which somewhat defeats the purpose of doing something like this, right? If you have a thick board anchored well, resonance shouldn't be a problem. Carpet should help with sound transmission/absorption though.

I'm personally doing some wrapped ceiling tiles in the space between the cross members. Probably gonna fill the big voids with this stuff too.

Thanks for sharing your project status. Are you adding the plywood to the floor or just the back wall?

Thoughts on sub positioning / orientation before you bolt it down?

The enclosure looks solid. I prefer sealed boxes too.

I’d need to plan for next steps. I’d guess your gonna do 1000w to that sub? For reference on quality and accuracy I’d like to see that Paradigm 5000 w 6 8” sub enclosure for home use. I ask myself as I digress is it ever enough.

What are / will you be using for front main speakers? Stock sizes?

Please add additional images when available related to build progress.

The plywood's only going on the back wall. The enclosure will be right where it is in the picture. And yeah, it's pretty solid - hence all the trouble I'm going through to secure it. Yeah, sealed is OK, but it doesn't allow the low end extension that a vented enclosure does given the same driver. A well-designed and built vented enclosure should have no discernible disadvantages compared to a sealed enclosure other than reduced power handling and much greater size(assuming the driver is suitable for either).

Naah, only 600W on it for now. More is on the RADAR, but no plans just yet. I should be able to move through most of its available linear excursion with the power available given the vented enclosure - using a Sundown SA10.

Using SEAS Prestige U16RCY/P and Stereo Integrity M25 for the active front stage. Build thread with plenty of images here.
