So, I was looking at my truck and I crawled underneath it today at college and I realized that my leaf springs are completely flat or even slightly bending backwards. I’m freaking out inside, and I’m trying to figure out what to do. Right now I am sitting on a 3 inch rough country spacer lift with a 1 inch spacer between the leaves in the back as well as the rough country struts. Anyone have any suggestions???

I could be wrong, but aren’t they supposed to be shaped like a parabola?

They are flat- go to your local Toyota dealer and look at new ones.

Guys, leaf springs are just as effective flat as arched. The spring rate didn't change. When my truck was new, it had just a slight positive arch. Now they have a slight negative arch. I attribute it to settling a bit, just like every spring does. I have zero concern.

Every spring will settle once it supports it's normal weight. Ask anyone who has replaced any springs for a lift. It might take a day, week or month but they will eventually settle to their natural position and not settle any further.

Tacoma leafs normally sit fairly flat. My leafs sat flat on my 2003 when I first bought it brand new. 14 years & 273,000 miles later they still sit flat. Quit giving yourself anxiety & just enjoy your truck.

I have OME, and they are basically flat, well a little arched after settling. Is it me or are most tacoma owners ridiculously OCD?

I feel that metallurgically (sp?) Your leafs have no idea what arch they have. Basically, as long as your rear end hasn't sagged significantly, the leaf springs will perform as designed whether they look like this ( this | or this )

Just cause I'm a jerk and a nerd, you could argue that the springs are actually more effective when flatter because it will take more pressure to bend them further. See: Hooke's Law
    Carry on

The Tacoma leaf springs are flat/slighty inverted when brand new. At least mine were.

I put a leer 180 on mine and they sag a bit more. Eventually might get Dakar medium duty leafs. I’ll be adding a sleeping platform and store gear under it.

I put a Deaver single leaf on mine with a homemade platform and ARE MX, and I tow a travel trailer with it too - it’s doing well with that setup.
