If I recall I've seen finance rate as low as 0.9% a few months ago when they were trying to push sales.

Anyone have any idea what the % of mark up is from invoice to MSRP on a Tacoma? In Canada?

There's a thread here with invoice vs MSRP. I think it's stickied in the 3rd gen forum.

In my experience there are never dealer incentives for Tacomas. The "incentive" is that you get to buy one lol

So are you saying that 0% is a gimmick?

If so, how are you paying more if you negotiate the price and get 0% financing? Are you hinting that 0% is a lie? If so, your post doesn’t make sense. You sign a contract stating the overall price, overall cost, etc which clearly states the terms and conditions of purchase.

Please explain if you have time. Especially if you have deductions such as cash back or college grad bonus... Are you still claiming this isn’t legitimate?

It's very rare for a dealer to give you 0% and also give you a good price on the new vehicle and the trade (if you have one). They are going to get their profit somewhere. If you are using dealer financing, they control all of the numbers. Most of the time, if they give you 0%, they are either not giving you enough on your trade or not getting as much off of the new vehicle price.

It's an illusion. You're paying the interest 'lost' by the dealer in the price of the vehicle.

It's not hard. To know what you are really paying you have to take trade and any dealer financing off the table.

    Then get the best price.

Trade values & offered interest rates that are under market for your credit status all just make the buyer feel good.

Think 3 shells and one pea, being the actual cost of the vehicle.

Take the finance and trade shells off the table. They are all that's in your control.

It's ok to not believe it. Some salesman needs to put braces on their kid :D

I hear you, but if you don’t have a trade then what... You are buying it straight up and if you get a good price then where is the enormous profit to the dealer?

So say you get invoice or as close as possible (negotiating) and you don’t have a trade... Then how are the dealers getting profit over you getting a good deal? Just curious.

Invoice isn't what the dealers pay for a vehicle. They want you to believe that it is.

Got 500 cash back last fall. As others have mentioned it could be regional? They can roll the numbers too to make you fell like you got a deal as well. No trade involved when I did it. I also leased. Clear as mud too.
