Wanted to get some opinions on this truck.

    http://www.brooksbiddle.com/used-ca...a-4WD-V6-DOUBLE-CAB-SR5/998/3TMMU4FN4BM025810

    23k with 50k miles 2011 SR5 4x4 DCLB

Looks like a decent deal especially up here in Washington. My only concern is it was a canadian truck. Does anyone know if they have different EPA requirements? I realize WA is fairly lax compared to other states. Id wonder if its okay for CA as that maybe my next move.

Other than that the frame checks out and carfax shows two owners and no accidents and no maintenance records haha.

If I bought it I would pry do a 60k mile maintenance to it anyways.

    TIA

I would make sure the frame is solid and all recalls have been taken care of. If it all checks out, seems like a pretty good buy. Definitely belonged to someone that's been around TW before

Carfax is a GIGO tool. Accidents fixed w/o insurance claims never get input. So it may or may not have accidents. But if it does, likely somewhat minor. IE I had a $2k 'dent' I chose to pay OOP. No damage to other properties, didn't want it on my insurance as a claim or on Carfax as a 'ding'.

Maintenance work is usually only recorded by a dealer if they are diligent about that. So not showing only means it wasn't done at a dealer, or at a diligent dealer.

Not saying anything for or against the vehicle. Just that a professional inspection of the vehicle is worth more than Carfax.

Did I miss a TW decal or something? :D

    What's the clue?

They salt the roads in some areas of Canada. Make absolutely sure the frame is OK, because it is not eligible for a free frame in the US.

The fuel gauge also looks to be off. The light is on with just under a 1/4 tank. I could be wrong though

If its a Canadian truck, the emissions testing is going to vary city to city if its a BC truck as far as I know. Vancouver had testing at some point, but while living in Whistler and Victoria(basically next door) Ive never had an emissions on any vehicle I've purchased. Now, I have heard that the testing is being tossed here, and I have no Idea If ours would be different than yours? We are also practically neighbours with a border between us haha. BUT If its from any of the eastern provinces, where salt is used I would be wary. Ive always been told never to buy out of province, and vehicle prices are usually much lower if they are declared out of province.

Stuff to make go more off road
Just recently bought a MGM 2010 SR5 DCSB 6spd 74k miles, with a new frame for 18k. This was in PA. I would try to get it for 21k.
