Picked up this pretty little thang this weekend. It drove like a champ up 680 from San Jose to Martinez without a single hiccup. All it needs is a little TLC that isn't abnormal for its ripe old age of 23 and 220k miles lol. Huge thanks to @tacomgee for the huge hookup on it!!! ILYboo

What’s the plans?

 

None for now. It's already lifted a couple inches from, what I've gathered from looking it over, a torsion bar crank and some lift springs in the rear. Gonna get it caught up on maintenance so she's reliable, and then some new shocks, 33s, and probably replace the torsion bar crank with a ball joint spacer. The idea is that my my buddy @BaysicRyan and I are going to make this a shared project. For now, it's going to be a backup rig if either one of ours is down or if we're bringing someone along for a trip who doesn't have one. Then, eventually...

Regrettably sold my 3rd gen 4runner last year because no dinero to mod 2 rigs. Big fkn mistake lol.

Sweet. I sold mine to buy the Taco. It was time. It was closing in on 200,000, as well.

 

You sure it's an 85? Turbo's only came on 86's, does it have a solid axle? Wish I could pick it up, been dying to get back into one for years now.

Mileage wasn't the only issue. 94's had a poorly engineered head. Blew gaskets on a regular basis. There was a recall at one point, but I missed it. Plus, got tired of dog hair in the cab all the time. Needed separation. Got a pick up. Dogs in the back; only!
