Done raining here. Little over 4 inches fell and that's a lot of water in a short time and the rivers are ripping.
My buddy had a big tree fall across the river in his backyard a couple weeks ago. he said it's no longer there and can't even see it down river.
So much for trout fishing till the next stocking. They probably got washed down to Long Island Sound.

With the ethanol issues now days I may go the battery route myself. buying 2 cycle carbs is getting to be a pain. I want to use it not repair it.

    Afternoon Everyone !! :hattip:

The winds up here are getting really strong ,seeing 30-35mph sustained and 50mph gusts right now . Driving my truck around and it's getting tossed around and sitting at stop lights feels like someone hit me

Big clouds of sand /dust blowing around and tumbleweeds everywhere . even the Calif aquaduct , there's waves forming with white caps

Hope @Chile Verde is safe driving his Semi truck in these winds as he drives thru my area all the time

Yeah if you soak the end of a shotgun barrel in some Kroil that has a stuck choke tube and it don't come out by morning, your taking it to the gunsmith. And not getting your choke tube back because he had to cut it out.

Had a yardbird turn me onto Triflow years ago when we were in drydock in Bremerton and that worked really well in the engineroom too. Superheated steam, salt air, 100% humidity those bolts weren't giving up easy. With heads in the several inches. Come-along, chainfall or torch were the normal means to break them loose. More times than not just break them.

Well that was rather nice of you  Dark eyed juncos are still here and haven't gone North yet but sparrows, robins and even a red wing blackbird was hanging on the feeder yesterday. They mobbed my feeders before and during the storm and are empty too. I need to fill them also. Before the next storm.

Had my 8 hours in half an hour ago just finishing up now. But shoveled a path to the gasser

And phone went off. Another round Tomorrow and Wednesday

OK Kevin I'll do it for you

I can't decide if Ballistol is a better aftershave than Hoppes No.9 .

Dan Lokker the premier gunsmith of Perazzi shotguns in the US has been recommending Triflow for years. I don't have an extra $10K for a Perazzi sitting around but I do use Triflow on all of my guns. Now if that extra $10K came along....

Of course then I'd have to get a fancy pointy dog like @bucktales Hey look a straight tail instead of vertical! Must be European.

If I had some spare herb laying around,I'd go for one of these. I handled a few and they are works of art.

Thanks I've been a big fan of the Toller for about 30 years now and can't imagine not being owned by one.

Canadian rain. Once it goes away get about 6 weeks of piss poor sledding and then the shit shows back up again.

I've shot several at both Trap and Sporting Clays. The owners seem to be usually very generous of letting others try them. Got to admit after shooting them a few times and not missing any birds I have handed them back with a comment along the lines of thanks. You son of a beach. They are beautiful both in looks and handling. Yeah maybe in the next life...

I guess 50's is that age that, as you pass through them, you have to read the medical reactions to the use of certain tools....the new 30 my ass!

I got hooked on Triflow last year and bought a case for work. Good stuff. The locksmith I go to recommended it for pad and door locks, hinges...whatever. I was wondering how it was with guns. I need to go buy myself a can to keep on the gun cabinet.

Good afternoon folks. Day one of summer hours was a little rough. Getting up that hour earlier kind sucked but traipsing out the office at 1415 hrs got some hackles up (why does Martin get to change his hours and we can't?...I didn't hear any volunteers for getting up at 0300). I would have been out at 1400 but I was composing a smartass email to a few folks on how all the "Roads and Parkways", "Curbs, gutter and sidewalks", "Plumbing and Electric", "Water and Sewer" crews from our division were changing our statt times. I'm the fulltime crew and my friend is the "seasonal staff"....
