Don't look him in the eye though. I learned the hard way.

Scratch the blue things off the to-do list. I got my custom cast aluminum calipers ready for the big brake upgrade.

Just throwing this out there. If anyone wants to do the hood strut mod, I can bring a rivet gun and rivets. If you haven't done this yet, it comes highly recommended.

You can go the Red Line route for $70+ or you can do what I did for about $40.
This was for a 1st gen. The brackets for 2nd and 3rd are different, but I'm sure they can be found.

I bought some spidertrax spacers so I can look cool until I can afford to do it all right. Now I’m wondering if I’m going to rub some stuff when the wheel is stuffed up in there. Any way to flex out on a curb? Lol.

I’m positive nothing will run under normal driving, but I’d hate myself if I tucked a wheel and messed up a fender flare or something. No doubt I’ll ask one of you to crank the wheel while I crawl under the truck

Edit: they called me Scuba Steve but I think Nooba Steve will be my new handle

I’ve been trying to decide between 16 or 17 Ray10s (when I can afford them and they are magically in stock). I have a brake rebuild on my next mod/todo list but have entertained the thought of the big brake kit. Still undecided lol

This has been done in his driveway before too
You may need to run to Napa and grab a short premade hardline, I had to bend one into shape after doing this mod, from the factory the caliper side connection on the line was jacked up bad

@HAVING FUN can help ya out

Just go 17, that way if you upgrade calipers, they will fit.

Those are your hand-me-downs. I have the flexible lines from Wheeler's.

What Leonard said. You can upgrade to the 13WH calipers.

I thought tundra calipers cleared 16s

Or are you guys talking other stuff? I'm planning on the S13WLs here soon. But I'm going to be pissed if they wont fit with my 16s

    Ohhhhhhh Hahahaha.
Well the lines I’m talking about are from the knuckle to the caliper. It’s like a 6” hardline, not the rubber one

The wheelers kit replaces all that. At least on 1st gens.

The 13WL and WG clear most 16s. The S13WEs are smaller. The 13WHs are the same size caliper but it mounts farther out to accommodate a 338mm rotor.

Edit: Gotta make sure it works with your steel spare.

I still have them. I'll probably clean them up, replace the seals, and offer them to the TW community.

They're not really aluminum. I used POR15 silver caliper paint because I couldn't find my black. It's a little more silver than I expected. Then I painted the bolt heads black for that counter culture custom look.
