is a good article. Most i agree with and have been saying its the tuner world that has just grown up. But i still dont necessarily agree with "bank owned" mentality. I just think thats a jab at someone for financing something new by someone who has something old.

 

Well.. I read it and the bigger impressions I had were that he’s the thing he hates. Journalism and the ability to write something provocative or thought inducing without being snarky used to be a thing. The new breed of millenial has caused a massive influx of snark to all written words, internet, paper, digital, bathroom stall, etc. Everything has to be an opinion piece and it has to take a strong position up front, and all words used therein have to be talking shit to whoever disagrees or thinks otherwise.

So while in one hand he’s condemning similar personalities for globbing onto one of his hobbies and describing himself as a purist, on the other, it’s clear he is guilty of the same bowl circulation in other areas. His writing reflects that same deterioration of what should have been and could have been otherwise well written and genuinely interesting. Instead it reads like a tantrum.

Plus, I would agree he seems to think old shit is best shit, and if you paid too much for something then you’re just pretending to be something. That attitude is super self righteous, and wrong.

Well I’m new to all this off-roadin/overlanding thing, having spent most of the last 15 years traveling on two wheels, but that dude sounds like an entitled dick. “I was here first and I don’t want anybody else having my fun”.

Sounds a lot like that prick that was trolling Overland Bound a few weeks back.

 

Looks like I have a 6-8 week Work vacation that started 2 weeks ago.

What to do? What to do?

I should mention I also have 6 broken ribs, a broken collar bone, punctured lung and a bit of bleeding on the brain. And my motorcycle needs some repairing. Need a new motorcycle helmet and my moto suit is done.

 

If you are asking what to do, I’d say listen to your doctor and heal up. Damn man!

I'm truly not a Wheeler nor an overlander any more but spent my time. This kid is a total douche nozzle. He is a little brat that someone offered a cool job to and now, yes he feels entitled!
I really don't care for his position. After all he is in so cal and I am a die hard nor cal guy. Guess that's even more of a reason.

Dude, same here. I'm 27 and like off roading and camping. However, I don't believe I invented it, nor do I try to impress the rest of the older folks who hate on millennials by saying "I'm not a normal millennial, though. I'm cool like you guys!" Lol I love IG and formerly loved facebook and before that myspace. I think social media is awesome to a certain point. I didn't grow up entitled and do have a full-time job/career in local government, although most older people think all we do as a generation is take pictures for IG and drink coffee (guilty of both still tho). I'm totally a stereotypical millennial in many ways due to growing up in the 90s, but not a stereotypical one in many other ways as well. Idk, I guess what I'm getting at is that part pissed me off...like, dude, you're not impressing anyone but older men. Otherwise, nobody else cares. Accept who you are.

I grew up with old Jeeps and Toyotas. I’m in my mid forties, but that doesn’t entitle me to feel that I have a lock on what people should and shouldn’t do with the great outdoors(we all share this planet, a little give and take is necessary). I only ask that you respect the planet and those around you. Telling people they don’t deserve their experience because they didn’t get there the same way as you is the worst for of self entitlement.
