usually the breather on a transmission or transfer case will be on top of the trans. under the shifter console area

Silicone spray would work to Help dissipate water. You could also wrap the base of the connector with self vulcanizing tape and work it up the connector. That may however trap water in there. I'd say try the silicone spray.

You need to use a special compound made especially for electrical contacts not silicone, wd40 etc. Look at corrosion-x.

    This made me lol.

I hopped under my 18 to install some steps. Coming from an 05, I couldn't believe the amount of electrical under there. These trucks are definitely going to be pay to play vehicles. Hope you get it sorted out soon OP.

Something doesn't sound right. I would wash the truck really well and take to the dealer since you're under warranty. That amount of water should not have hurt anything.

You can. I've had water fly over my hood from going into deep water and was fine. Definitely up to my cab when I settled in. 0 issues here.

Hearing other consumers jump to take the brands side and say that a truck is not meant to go through water up to the door sills is comical at best.

These are capable trucks and at very least able to cross a slightly flooded street as they get in most states that get a decent amount of rain.

I would jump to a different brand for safety reasons if my truck was ever not able to do a quick water crossing up to the bottom of my door. I’m on my 4th tacoma by the way and I don’t beat on them but I know what they are safely capable of.

Guess some people only use their trucks to haul camping chairs to the soccer fields.

You may take this as a grain of salt. Why don't you try to remove battery cables for like 30minutes to reset everything . This might help

I do similar stuff with my truck on a fairly regular basis and have no issues, so OP either got unlucky, or some placebo effect has taken place because these trucks will do what is described and shown no problem.

You could try this, it would not hurt.

As well as the connectors that were mentioned before

You should check your trans fluid just in case, since there is a vent on top of it. .. Just remember there is a procedure about refilling the trans fluid
