Random topic, yes. I bet one of you good folks has an answer though.

I need to find replacement hardware for a GoPro accessory and I have scoured Google for hours.

I'm looking for the square neck carriage bolts and the associated nuts embedded in plastic thumbwheels as depicted in the photos below. They're mainly used in the base of suction cup mounts but also in other GoPro accessories that have swivels. The inside of the swivel sections often have ridges so upon being tightened down they hold in place. Some products slightly different knobs/wheels but the bolts are all pretty much the same.

Yes I might be able to buy them at Lowe's but not with the knobs, they'll come at best with a matching nut that I can't turn without a tool.

You’re going to be hard pressed to find those, the best bet might be to contact GoPro.

Apparently GoPro can be difficult to contact unless you chat or call during their working hours, not a player for me any time soon.

The normal thumbscrews are everywhere. This one though is like a unicorn.

I was overseas when I stripped the little ridges off of mine. I couldn’t find them online at all and ended up buying another suction cup mount entirely.

The price difference between new hardware if I could find it and a new accessory is probably negligible. But I can't stand throwing away the old accessory, seems so dumb.

Got any better pictures of the bolt? McMaster has a pretty good selection of threaded knobs and there's a good chance they have the bolt as well, but it's difficult to say for sure from your picture.

Sounds like you should make some modifications and use wingnuts.

Wingnuts would work. Just wish I could find the carriage bolts. I'm driving down to Lowe's, this is driving me nuts.

Are these any better w/a white background? The problem is, I have no idea which measurement system they use, and as small as they are it could really be either...

No joy at Lowe’s. No carriage bolts that small.

Lowe's should have a thread checker tool handy that you could use to at least figure out what the size and threads are. Once you know this then it's pretty straightforward to find the correct replacement online. You may even be able to do this at home if you have a nut/bolt of known size.

I've reached out to GoPro and they MIGHT be sending me replacements. Fastenal has the bolts and wingnuts but not in the store, by the time I pay shipping it's the price of a new mount.
