What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Oddly enough, I was looking at ARB bumpers when our shipping lead walked in and broke me the news. Must be fate.

 

Picture is shit because I had to bump the exposure to see it. Added the 3rd gen TRD Pro emblem to the tailgate and decided to add the V6 opposite. Kinda digging it.

 

Rear differential fluid changed, spark plugs, and a wash and polish

 

And maintenance and service are so easy on the Tacoma's...

Does your dealer charge that much? I called my local one to see out of curiosity and the quoted me $350. I can do it for around $200 in supplies and an afternoon and my opportunity cost is higher than $150 so it's not really cheaper but I enjoy doing it.

 

Repaired that shot on my s10. What a bitch that was... did the repair myself & took whole days beating w/ a hammer!

 

I haven't finished the install yet, but following another write-up I found here. I will just be putting them under the wet okole seat covers (on top of the stock seat covers).

Preparing for floods this year

 

When I had my Outback the morons as the Subaru dealership had spilled so much oil in the engine bay that my car started smoking about a half mile down the road. I was a little pissed.

 

Honestly I don't think the dealerships around here know what to charge. I've called several of them for pricing on one of the diff fluid changes and there is quite a price range. Overcharging might be the norm for my area because one of the Nissan places wanted $75 to change the cabin air filter in my wife's Rogue. WTF!?

I have determined it was grease on the exhaust. Drove back from school in 4HI and no smell when I got out of the truck. On the topic of dealerships, do you plan on doing your own ATF? I'm already thinking about 100K service and I'm 50/50 on doing myself because I may get other stuff done. I have heard to do belts, hoses, water pump, tensioners, pullies, etc. at the same time. Not sure if this would be more cost effective, easier to do at the dealership being my truck is my daily so I can't have it out of commission more than a day.

 

Yeah i do plan on doing the ATF but I'm only at 40k miles right now.
