haven't used them, but for a twig stove thats pricey. feel like its just a glamping type thing or some sort of kickstarter random thing.

This, although I haven't tried jetboil. But heard plenty of reviews of being one of the best. I use an MSR cook when backpacking sometimes. Depending what I feel like sometimes I just do fire cooking.
Jetboil is supposed to be even better than the MSR, much faster etc.

I'm really considering getting something different as I dont want to lug around the whole propane two burner stove but I also dont want small tanks.
Want to find a single burner thing that I can just hook my larger (5lb) propane tank to.

ya all the stoves that, that would work with are 2 burner from what I've seen.

Problem is with those little stoves that go on top of the propane tank need a regulator. 1lb tanks have a different PSI from what I understand or something like that vs a 5lb+ being for something else which is why you need a pressure regulator to adapt to them.

I need to see if I can rig up the little one on top of the 5lb tank.

you should talk to a gas supply store like linde air and ask about an in line compact regulator. wont be cheap though.
    nevermind... they`re super cheap

Looks like you can do 5lbs tank>regulator>adaptor>mini burner

ya thats basically what I was looking at, the problem is the hookup to my MSR stove.

its not a screw in type so dunno how it would work out.

but just looking at jetboil..they have exactly what I was thinking.

I have the Primus version of this stove and it can hold a pretty big pan on top! It holds easily my 12", Heritage The Rock. I cook bacon and 6-8 eggs and it is pretty fast. You can get the jet boil base for 10$ on Amazon for more stability JETBOIL CANISTER STABILIZER (ORANGE) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00MUYUDC4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_U1P1AbZ1D2V3P

Get this one, I have one and it's best bang for the buck I'll be taking it this time on trails as I realized that even truck camping makes me lazy to cook and I prefer dried food...
    https://www.mec.ca/en/product/5024-201/Zip-Personal-Cooking-System

I used to have one, bough it off Kijiji for $30 and it was like 15 years old, the fuel pump died after a year of use and even cleaning didn't help so I dumped it to a scrap yard. But I would buy it again some day. So far my jetboil never disappointed me while camping, but I am single so no mrs. to complain about food choices :angrygirl:

When camping with Karoline I rarely have a use for both burners. Usually only for breakfast Ill use it. One burner for coffee and one for the food. Other than that Its usually one burner.
