I have a 2017 Tacoma Sport ACLB, with a G4 Elite by foldacover tonneau cover. I want to be able to travel with the tonneau cover on and then fold it open and put a tent in the bed. Will a tent with no floor work? Thank you.

Have you looked into @KB Voodoo under cover bar brackets and bars? He has some products that may work

I have your same wish. I have C4 bed bars, but sure wish I could find a simple cover that works to protect my stuff while the bars are on. I know Voodoo does have some interesting bars that lay flat and sneak up and over tonneau covers.

interested in your question being answered by others. I am considering getting a foldacover elite for my 2017 OR and would also like to use a bed tent as well.

I dont think OP means an RTT on cross bars. He mentioned a tent with no floor that he could set up "In the bed". I think he means a "sportz" style tent. Correct me if I'm wrong OP.

My fleer tri fold flip back cover is actually installed inside of these photos of my dry run setup of the two tents I purchased last spring. The setup is two different tents purchased from Rightline.

    http://www.rightlinegear.com/truck-tent.html

    http://www.rightlinegear.com/suv-tent.html

The cover was pushed up tight against the front bed corners but the tent was secure tightly to the vehicle there was no movement whatsover. The truck tent itself didn't budge one night when we had a 7Omph thunder sqwall come through the rest of camp was totaled.

The fold up tonneau made a great shelf for our packs of clothes. We slept feet forward in the bed and the dogs had the SUV tent floor all to themselves. Note the frigging a.c. unit and generator... nothing but the best for our babies...

Rightline's floorless feature was the clincher on the selection. I will be selling the setup after our next campout as I'm currently modding the truck for a slide in camper.

Has anyone been able to fit a long bed truck tent on a short bed? I have the opportunity to purchase one at a good price, but it is long bed. Just wondering if anyone has tried. Tent is similar to the one above, fitting on the bed. Thanks.

It might overhang a little, but probably will still work. Can you test fit the one you are thinking of buying?

Thanks for the reply. I'm going over the weekend to test fit it. Hopefully it will work. $300 tent for $100.

With the long bed being what, a foot longer or so, stretch it down further on the front end of the bed and that should help a lot. Over hang on the tail gate end is not good as most tents cap over the tailgate and you may lose some wind resistance of the overall tent structure.

Turned out it was too big. It was for a full size truck with long bed..almost 7 ft long....2 ft longer than needed. So, I decided to just wait. Much appreciated on the advice.
