Plan on ramping up the planning starting roughly first of May. Just posted this to get the dates out there. Not much needs to happen yet.

Friday, October 26th....We will be doing a Red Trail ride. Mostly red, with blue and green trails just to link up the more difficult stuff. Let me know if you're in for this one. We will roll out by 10AM at the drop dead latest. I would suggest NOT doing this in a stock truck... I will start a separate list of those planning on this ride.

Highly recommend skids, sliders, high clearance bumper(s), locker(s) and full recovery gear (inc winch) Going to use mapped trail we WERE doing on Saturday last year until heavy rains washed out that plan. There will be damage and chaos.

I'll be starting the official "4th Annual Tacoma World (and a few others) Black Mountain Fall Meet" thread in a couple weeks.

Gota plan that involves a slight change.

Think about this and post your thoughts.

Looking at dropping the idea of a base camp. Meet Thursday night. Camp in camp ground (where we did last year) Roll out Friday morning for a day on the trails. Find suitable camp spot (White Tail Campground?) And set up there for Friday night. Hit the trails Saturday morning and work our way back to Putney Campground for Saturday night with the option of maybe pull in to one of the overlooks for Saturday night. ( weather permitting) Head home Sunday.

Also, goal is to do a little tougher trails (more blue/way more red.) That was the intent last year but rain sorta changed a lot of plans. And, main ride would be smaller group. Maybe the first 10 to commit.
I can't think of anyone I'd exclude, but the group of 52 last year was a circus. Groups of 8 to 10 is more than enough. Multiple small groups if crowd shows up....

Also, scheduling no rain this year.

Will adjust plans according to who's going. Just want to do some new trails. Do NOT want to get water-logged. Prefer less chaos.

I'll be trailering in so moving camp will kinda be a pain for me but other than that, sounds like a good plan. Putney side has nicer facilities/camp ground I think but Evarts side is closer to a lot of stuff like the rock garden and stuff like that. However the ride up from putney is also a bit more challenging at times.

From the initial reaction I'm getting, looks like base camp may still be a thing.

I prefer Putney. Stayed at both. Putney has a lot more to offer.

Yeah. I like the Putney side better myself. Just nicer, plus you don't have to go through town/residential areas to get to the trail head.

Last time I stayed at Evarts the showers only had cold water except the women's lol and that was dangerous at times.

Putney (Harlan County Campgrounds) is constantly improving and upgrading. Evarts seems to be maintaining status quo
