I've owned a bunch of Toyota's and the gas mileage gets worse as the vehicles age, this has been the case for every Toyota I've owned! BUT I still buy them as they're far superior in quality to the other brands out there, the mileage means nothing to me with the time and money savings I get in other areas.

I’ve been gettin 16-17mpg pretty consistently with a mix of city and hwy and the truck has 4690 miles on it. Oh I should mention I live in an area with shitty traffic No matter where you go so I’m gonna count that as good.

I do notice the mpg avg on the dash is different then on my entune home screen. Maybe one is for the life of the vehicle and one is for the current tank?

half city half highway driving every single day, averages 21 mpg. My 2001 extra cab frontier 5 speed averaged 17 at absolute best... i'm content with my mpg. I bought a truck knowing I wouldn't be getting 30mpg

For every time we report mileage, we should all post with our driving habits and environment. Also what powertrain and cab since these do factor in.

I find it interesting that we have such a wild variety of mpg between 15 and 22.

Well I just did a round trip from Colorado Springs to davenport Iowa. From Colorado through Nebraska I got 23-25mpg thank you evelvation drop but in Iowa I was 17mpg thanks to the hills. On the way back to Colorado I was getting 18 mpg max. Trucks stock and light load.

Yes, stock SR with 4-banger and 5 speed. All mileage figured with calculator, as cheap doesn't come with computer. Given the lack of power generally, has anyone checked mileage with/without for a real world comparison? I currently have the "golf ball" look - hail last week did a number on roof and hood. Thankfully can be fixed, because I understand you can't get cheap with a manual anymore. WTF??? This thing is enough of a dog with the stick, can't imagine what I'd give up in mileage and performance with a slush box.

As much as it disappoints me to be getting 19mpg compared to my friends full size dodge with a v8 that is getting 25mpg, I plan to keep this forever and there is no doubt that the complex system that the dodge uses that shuts off cylinders is going to fail and will cost a small fortune to fix that will likely negate any savings in the 6mpg difference over time.

Toyota has never been known for great gas mileage aside from the Prius.
