. I do have to admit the food and dining areas weren't as good or as nice as on a cruise liner:), but I prefer sitting on a beach with a cold beer.

    Morning all:
Had mentioned this before, after reading the POD they would ask the chief if he had anything to add, his usual reply was "nope" being barely able to stand and having bloodshot eyes, after that you didn't see him too much!

Just reading again about another e coli outbreak concerning lettuce, there was just another one with eggs. Hey guys this is the food we eat, get with it! :(

Bo'sn - The days of the "Old Navy" are lost in the wake. Alcohol is no longer on the menu for any rank and portly sailors are a thing of the past. When I got to Taiwan, my job was to get a carryall (with Chinese driver) at 0300 and go down to Taipei to pick up a 1st class analyst. Usually I had to pour him into the van and take him up to Shulinko. When he arrived at work my job was done until the next morning. That is, until Diana and I were married, then I started watchstanding (2 eves, 2days. 2mids and 80 hours off).

Kind of miss the old Navy. When I tell my Grandsons some of my stories from the good old days they ask if that really happened. Have plenty of good memories and a few not so good.

Pretty soon we won't be eating if this keeps up Carl. That's alright by me as I have a few pounds I need to lose...LOL:rofl:

    Evening all:

So far I have never suffered any ill effects from eating "harvested" venison, turkeys, or fish! :D All good for you, except for when I fry it!
Should have a garden and some chickens also.

Yea Mark - Oh how I hated those four hot meals a day and having to turn in to that hard warm rack each night. Not to mention all those liberty ports the State Department forced us to go ashore in and the hot showers. Oh! I almost forgot the clean sheets and clothes. Gotta hand it to ya, you guys sure had the life of luxury - kinda makes me envious.

    Morning all:
WHAT ARE THEY PUTTING IN THE COFFEE, or is everyone going bonkers from cabin fever! :)

Last night I saw a bear cross the street just up the road from me and go up a neighbors driveway, backed up to see if it was standing there and another one crossed just above where that one crossed, they're back! :( A bear also destroyed a birdfeeder and modified another one at Jims place, bear can be a PITB!

Been up and now on my second set of errands. Already filled the bird feeders and fertilized the knock out roses at home plus a load of laundry. Then on to church to feed knock out roses and work compost into 2 raised flower beds. Next up was to deliver 10 bags of mulch to my cousins home.

Still to do, pick up bird food and another 10 bags of mulch. Deliver the 10 bags to my cousins house when my son gets home from work. My son will be putting down mulch at my cousins tomorrow in the AM.

At least retirement is not boring.

 Was just reading a post on another forum. One of the members got shot with a hunting broad head during elk season out West, how on the earth could a hunter mistake a man for an elk at close range using a bow? He posted a video, the broad head went across his chest cutting his shirt and hit him in the arm putting a deep open wound in his arm, he's lucky he's still around to talk about it!
Getting shot by another archery hunter would be low on my "watch out for list", guess it's time to move it up a notch or two!

    I saw that vid...

Guy wanted to shoot something. Didn't care what.
    Plus he can't shoot anyway.
    Good thing.
If it had been a skilled person he wouldn't be alive..
