I'll start by saying I've read 100's of pages about tents and how to mount them. Basically I don't want to risk cracking the shell so I'm thinking of mounting it on a prinsu rack over the cab. Question is will the weight of the tent and 3 people be to much over the cab? I've seen plenty done like this but nowhere can I seem to find anything about weight limits. Any help would be appreciated.

Nice I called and talked to them about the rack and of course they said "yes it's ideal to mount a tent to " I just wanted to make sure I didn't cave the roof in or anything .I know that sounds crazy.

No we didn't talk restrictions. Plus what I've read plenty of people mount them on those racks.
