    Hi Will,

I've been following your build for a little while here, your truck is gorgeous! I'm in the process of round 2 of upgrades for my new to me 2003 double cab and considering various options for the front end. With your setup and uses, have you ever felt as though you "needed" reservoirs up front?

Actually yes. I can feel the front start to fade at times, when the rears are still cool to the touch. The front is fighting the weight of the cab and engine, with a smaller shock body and no reservoir.

I do push my suspension very hard though. If you drive yours hard, I recommend asking King to add the reservoirs. I think its an extra $300/shock.

FWIW, Fox includes reservoirs, but does not make a 2.5" shock for the rear. Neight does Icon.

King is the only one that offers a 2.5 for the rear, but also the only one that does not include a reservoir standard for the front. Go figure.

    Thanks for the info.

I don't think I drive it "hard" but I do get out and use my rigs, and this truck will see baja, moab, death valley etc. so I'm thinking it may benefit me to spend a little more money.

I've been doing a bit of research and some of the options are a little odd, like you pointed out. How are you liking the deavers? I called them initially when shopping for springs and they said for my truck they would have to build me a custom pack to handle the weight of a double cab, tent and my standard load of camping gear. That still may end up happening but I'm going to play with shocks/bumps/dakars first.

they are correct. With a lot of gear and armor most standard packs won't hold the weight.

Also..id recommend looking into ADS Shocks if you can spring for it.

How did you get that engine bay so clean??!

It always amazes me how preserved vehicles are on the west coast.. in New England a 3 year old truck can appear 10 years old from the salt..

Sweet truck man! I had a 2002 reg cab manual everything for over 10 years and I loved it. Always liked the 95-00 horizontal front end better though..

Forgot to post pictures of adding some sound deadener to the interior. Definitely made a big difference in this small cab.

lots of patience and simple green. when the engine is COLD, like sitting all night cold, get it wet, spray simple green on everything. Let it sit for a bit, and put another coat of simple green. Get out your old tooth brush, and a coupdl different sized nylon brushes and go to town. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Having a rust free truck makes this a lot easier as well haha.

I also added a snorkel. I'm terrible about updating this...

Btw the snorkel install wasn't too bad, but getting the inner fender liner out is a motherfucker...

I've been looking at doing the SOLO kit and have 10" sway-a-ways sitting waiting, but the rubbing has been my big concern, do you have any pictures of the articulation and lower mount
Also do you remember your backspacing on your wheels

    Yep, SCS F5's 3.5" bs.

They rub at the tire, but not to the point there's any structural damage.

Depending on if you want to go with hydro bumps, i'd recommend the TC kit. Are your SAW's 2.5" or 2.0's?

Solo doesn't sell many of these kits anymore, and i believe they increased the price pretty substantially after i bought mine.

I had also thought about building a kit just like the solo kit in my own
I have access to the tools to do it

That would work just fine. You just have to make sure to cycle it!

What rear end gearing do you have? 4.30?

Factory 4:30's. I like the shift points, but there is a noticeable lack of grunt when combined with the heavy KO2's.

I'd like to supercharge the truck at some point, or go 4:56 if i bump up to 255/85r16's.

    Do both.

haven't driven an extended cab supercharge 3rz. It was nice. Be simlar to my SX single cab Im sure. And that things a blast. Even with a slipping clutch.

Thanks! I have 3.91's and the truck is a bit of a dog, I'm just trying to get a feel for how much gearing would be overkill for my situation. 4.56 seems a bit overkill but then again 4.30 seems like it wouldn't be enough to make a difference!
