Thinking about taking off the chin spoiler on my 2018 TRD sport. Any cons in doing so?

They say it adds a little fuel economy. Taking it off you decrease that a little. Not sure the exact number. Basically it’s the difference between the mpg of the sport vs the off-road

Your truck will look way better. Just do it. Didn't notice a difference in mileage

After a few thousand miles of highway driving here in hot, humid and flat South Florida with the chin spoiler both attached and removed, I found no difference in mileage. I removed the chin spoiler, as for me, the truck looks better with it removed.

on a semi related note, anyone else notice the weird whistle/hum create by the holes on the LCAs after removing the air dam? I put mine right back on cuz it was annoying.

I’ve been told that helps mpg by 1-2 points on freeway driving only. So if you do A LOT of freeway driving, it might be a factor. The same person also advised that some folks leave it on or take it off pending the scenario, i.e. taking a long freeway trip or going off-roaring. Not sure what I’m going to doing, but I like the trimming idea.

Upon removal of the chinstrap you might notice that your truck looks better. Mine is next to my surfboards in the garage.

A cheap fix is to duct tape 3 of those holes. Or take it to the dealer for your next oil change and ask for the tsb to be applied that corresponds to the lca howl. They will install rubber plugs on those holes, howl will be gone.

    Too much.
Take it off. The MPG hit is negligible. I routinely get 20-21 MPG per tank (my average went down over the weekend, was towing a trailer)
