Got it on and mounted to the bedrail. My package did not come with the neoprene cover you see on pictures, and I had one slim box that was empty, might be just a packing error.

If you're mounting to the bed rail, I would recommend throwing away the plastic t-slot nuts that came with it and using your own metal ones. The plastic t-slots it comes with has these thin nuts that tend to fall out or slip out. So when you're trying to get the middle bolt in there the nut slips out and the bolt cannot get in deep enough (the mount and washer is in the way) to thread into the nut. If the bolt was 1/4" longer it would probably be OK. What I ended up doing was putting the bolt/mount/washer/nuts together first by threading the bolts just a little into the T-slot nuts before feeding the unit as a whole into the bed rail from the rear (just barely got it on on the 3rd gen Tacoma, ymmv). Then it was just a simple matter of tightening the bolts with a 1/2" crescent and socket.

They recommend using a bolt or a padlock to secure the QD mount in place. You cannot use a full-sized padlock for this purpose, the hole isn't big enough. I was able to use this travel padlock I normally use on luggage for the purpose. Probably not gonna stop a determined thief though.

As you can see, this will not work with any sort of tonneau cover. Seems like there's a good 2"-3" of room between the Waterport and the wheel well humps, seems like Waterport could fabricate a longer dropped-down mount and it might work with a tonneau.

 

Do you normally have a cover? Or does your bed rug get rained on?

 

I've had it on there for a couple of months and it's been rained on over a dozen times. Haven't had any issues. A week ago it rained HARD for several hours and the thing was completely soaked, then the sun came out and the bedrug was dry within an hour.

I have a shell waiting for me at the dealer, it gets mounted on Wednesday so will be even less of an issue moving forward.

does anyone have any recommendations for tube mounts that will drop the waterport lower? everything i see on ebay is either in line or drops 1-2 inches. looking for something 6+ inches. thank you!

I'm trying to mount to a PRINSU. Anyone figure out what the track on the bottom is for in particular?
What are the side mounts for other than putting the nozzle holder on?
Have you mounted to a PRINSU?

I can weld and fab and have a couple ideas- just wanna see what's out there.
