Lol you spent all this $$ on a truck and don't know what options you got on it? No offense, that's just kind of funny to me. I was super meticulous about everything when I bought mine

Is leather seats a new option for 2018? When I bought mine I think leather was definitely not an option

Pictures and install information are condensed in the first post.

Mounted it under the front drivers seat and used a couple of Metra harnesses to make a plug and play harness of my own. I detailed the routing with pictures and did my best to make it easy to replicate.

    Sorry, noob to car audio.
I’d like to add a sub and amp without breaking the bank. Don’t want to change the head unit. I have all the items OP suggested in my hands.
I was thinking about adding a LOC (LC2I by audio control), a sub for under seat, and an amp. I’m going to scour this thread again, and research further.
But is anyone running something similar that can add info?

At least in this thread most people have went the budget way. Once you get into amps etc you are into a more advanced upgrade and increase the hit on the wallet beyond what many in this particular thread were attempting. I did a powered sub but no amp and I am happy but the head unit limits your overall volume / power for the system as a whole.

I saw that thread, will need to read in full. I’m thinking about doing just the powered sub. Is a LOC like a LC2I necessary or helpful to add a powered sub? Or just wiring harness and labor?

IF you do just the powered sub and not a full on amp setup you can connect just the powered sub and its harness without too much more. There are a few different ways to connect the Kicker Hideaway (the powered sub I used). You can cut into the tacoma wiring harness or there are a couple of options for plug and play harnesses or you can make your own like I did. All of that information is in the other thread I made just for the Hideaway upgrade. If you want lets discuss this there so we don’t clutter up this thread.

So I figured I'd add my 2 cents. I am a bit over $250 but I have added a few things to my truck.

    JBL GTOs 939 and 629
    Pioneer GM-D1004 Compact Amp
    Subaru Kicker Tweeters
Metra 70-1761 and Metra 71-1761 soldered together with the amp's wiring
1 pack of Noico 80 mil sound deadening - did the doors, floors, and back wall.

This allowed me to keep all my stock wiring and stock deck. It sounded good with just the GTOs and the Kicker tweeters but after installation of the amp I gotta say it is so much better. I had a gut feeling I was underpowering my speakers and the amp really verified it. For around $100 what a world of difference. You could get the ********* harness but $15 total for the Metra harnesses and some solder was just too easy and kind of fun.

Switched all my the speakers and tweeters to the same stuff as OP's first post, but I also added an Alpine KTP-445U amp, stuffed it right behind the headunit (there's plenty of room back there by the way), and a Kenwood KSC-SW11 compact Sub w/ a built-in amp under the driver's seat.
    Gotta say, sounds 1000x better.

Anyone else running the Kenwood compact sub too? Any difference between that and the Kicker Hideaway?

How do you find the power pack? I am quite surprised by how good it sounds.

Did you use a harness to add the Powerpack? I have one in my garage, just haven hooked it up yet.

The Power pack is awesome! I installed the speakers and tweeters first and had them for a couple days before putting in the amp and sub/amp combo. The sound was good, but with the power pack, it became great haha

Yes, I used a harness with the power pack. Everything including the harness and amp fit right behind the headunit.

Did you make you own harness with the Metra adaptors or did you buy one?

I made my own by soldering it all together. Took about 2 hrs with install but I took my time.
