Agreed but he has valid points.

Mentioned doesn’t matter if you spend a lot of money on your truck or a little bit, doesn’t matter if you work on the truck yourself or support a local shop, all the matters is what you do with your truck when the tires are on the ground.

To me the passion shows in your truck build, where you take it, and the drive to push limits and leave comfort.

Same can be said about builds in general. I love the things you guys do with your trucks, the work you put into them, and I am amazed at the money a lot of you guys can afford to throw at them. Me personally, after being in 2 total loss accidents in the last 3 trucks I really am not willing to spend that way because of how fast it can be lost. But at the same time I will NEVER give someone shit about what they do with their money. But I want to add a few things to mine to make it able to ride nice, haul and tow better than factory, carry my yaks, and be as squeaky clean as possible lol

After the diff flush yesterday I had time to bang out an idea I had for a couple months now. Long story short winching at night can be tough, most of the time you light up the recovery but what about the winch. I’ve had scenarios I wish I could see the winch better at night so I added a winch light. Will help seeing the line spool in evenly, make sure you don’t unspool too much, see the clutch lever, etc.. I had all material laying around so it was like a free mod.

Is that the "black" colored Trasharoo bag?

    1.) I'm genuinely curious
    and
2.) If so, you're doing it right!! That thing looks faded! That means you've been exploring lots!

Yea it’s the black one just faded. I’ve got the 3rd trasharoo on currently, OD green than black than black. At $50 is not that bad of a disposable item when the time comes to replace. I get a couple years out of them but they don’t last forever.. I love the trasharoo. I use it for storage on the daily and trash when leaving camp. When I see rigs online with an empty spare tire I don’t know why they don’t use a trasharoo.. One of the most function inexpensive mods you can do.

I’m not sure what could prevent wear and rare.. maybe scotch gaurd? I’m not familiar with 303. Between a year or two I’ve replaced my trasharoo due to the brittle taring you mentioned. First one (OD Green) I held onto till the entire top seam of the big flap pocket was torn all the way across. Second roo I swapped out after cross country at first sign of taring in the flap corner and cuz I had a small mold build up from traveling with trash. Like I said above as far as replacing something for the truck, $50 really isn’t bad for a brand new on!

Camping on the rim just outside of Badlands National Park in South Dakota was one of the most epic places I’ve stayed. Seeing buffalo pies and thinking bout them roaming throughout this landscape and hearing a pack of wolves howling in the middle of the night was unforgettable. You literally forget about civilization as you know it..

First soft shackle tie attempt. Video turtorial was a bit confusing at the end of the button knot, that’s where I think I went wrong. Looked really good after tieing but after sinching it with the winch I noticed it didn’t tighten as it should as a ball, also found two parallel lines which you shouldn’t have. Was able to untie everything and will give it another go on some free time.. Working with 8’ of line, no relevance to the 8’ I made it to a 8” soft shackle. Size of the shackle is determined where you tie the knot, coulda made a 6” or 4”..

    Size reference

    Under tension

Fail: didn’t sinch into a ball

    Fail: parallel lines
