Running 30psi on stock block for over 10 years. Dynoed 405/430hptq. 330k miles on block from 1990. The drivetrain is what breaks due to the AWD. It's why I plan an auto swap. There has been 10 second 1/4 mile times on stock block and auto drivetrain.

In those 10 years it's had three clutches, broken rear/front cvs and two built 5 speeds. It sits now with a broken clutch last 2 years.

 

Noooo dont let the poor talon sit...

 

It's starting to rot. I need to do something soon.

As someone who was a teenager during the late 90s and early 2000's, I saw many 4G63(T) motors blow-up on the street racing scene, or fail due to "Crank walk", or have some other catastrophic failure.

I still see a lot of cars from from the 90's on the road, but the Eclipse is not one of them. It's a piece of junk, and there is a reason why Mitsubishi Automotive is on the brink of collapse.

 

That is really impressive. The 6 bolt motors were definitely stronger than their successors. But I wouldn't consider 400 hp a serious number. I am making 678rwhp with my 2JZ and I still don't think that is serious.

 

Yeah it's not serious at all. To me the car is slow at this power level. I was just trying to show they are not unreliable. Not to many 4 bangers can make 400+whp for over 10 years and 330k miles. Cool thing is on the 8th no prep it can take cars making way more power. AWD FTW.
