hey guys,im new here and looking at getting a new truck, sold my Silverado pursuing this music dream I had ( that went to shit lol ) and now Im without a rig. I love the new tacoma's and want to do a build thats as amazing as many of the rigs on here. just don't know whether to buy new or used

I want a cement or quicksand trd off road crew cab with pretty much all the options besides leather
I got quoted 35500 before tax/licensing here in WA that would bring it around 39000 ( I get somewhat of a employee discount through my job that contracts through conoco Phillips Alaska ) is this a good deal?

should I buy a new one or a used 2016/2017? they don't seem much less used

Any buying advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

I attached a picture of my last truck... obviously you can see my preference to the quicksand lol

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
You might still be able to find a 2017 new but not many, if any left. The way they hold their value you won't save much by going used. Price seems ok if loaded.

Either one will be a major improvement over that Chevy.

I like to buy new or old. Recent model used makes me wonder what's wrong with them. The only time I've sold a 1-2 yr old vehicle was because something was wrong with it. Don't believe every story someone gives you as to why they need to sell their perfectly fine new model vehicle.

Everybody likes the idea of new but the 2018 models now have that safety sense crap on it. I don’t know if some or none of that can be turned off or modified but after having it in a rental car, I’ll be passing on that crap that keeps you from rearending the car in front of you while you text and drive. Just like everything else taco related, there are threads here on the safety sence too.

Since you want all the options without Leather then I would look around and see if you can still find a new 2017 with Premium & Tech Package, used Tacoma's rarely make financial sense.

You can turn all of it off. That was the first thing I figured out how to do when I got my 18. I turned ALL of it off and it'll most likely never get turned back on. I did learn how to defeat the radar cruise control, just hold the button a couple seconds longer and you just get normal cruise. Thank God you can turn all that crap off.
