3RD GENERATION MATTE BLACK TACOMA HOOD STRIPES

Hi All. With my release of the hood wraps, I had some members as about making stripes that would sit on top of the raised areas of the hood. The sizing and templates have been made and these are ready for market. Just added your XL version with "TRD Off Road" on it. I'm not completely centered at the bottom but it's darn close. I'm super happy!

Tips:

-Have someone help you. Don't try it alone unless you are a professional. My wife held the decal while I peeled off the paper from the adhesive side. She then helped me place it on the hood. She then helped me try to center it. Lastly she helped squeegee it. So yeah a second set of hands is a must.

-Rapid Tac Fluid Film worked great. It's very forgiving when moving the decal around.

-Get something good to use as a squeegee. I used reusable plastic spreaders of the kind meant to use on fiberglass installations.

-Don't apply directly under the sun because the vinyl gets hot and stretches. I parked in my garage a little so as to be in the shade.

-When peeling off the paper on the adhesive side be careful with the center of the "O" as they can come off easily.

- Mine is not exactly centered. Next time I will cut the paper as close to the vinyl's rounded edges as possible so that I can see with more precision where the rounded bottoms of the decal are going to end up.

All in all not bad for a first time install of a larger decal.

@Matmo215 yes I do have 2nd gens also. Here you go.

 

The extra wide seems to be the popular one for the 3rd gen. I may need to make a wider version for the 2nd generation as well.

 

If I can't find a sport hood soon this is the next best thing.
