You can in most states so to speak. In Cali the guidelines are 2 attempts for a major safety issue (like where you might die) and 4 attempts for annoyance things.

Pretty much just find a decent lemon law attorney, put $1000-1500 down retainer and show you've made 4 attempts on the same issue. If the attorney takes the case (which means they can win) they will probably have you a buy-back offer in a week. The lemon law attorneys deal with the local manufacture reps all the time so you are mostly paying for their contact list and "back door" so to speak. The dealer rep will offer to settle it before kicking off the whole arbitration process because they know the attorney wouldn't call if they where not going to win. It's a massive pain to go through the process and deal with the arbitration...those are designed to wear you down too.

In the end you get a refund for the truck minus a usage fee of like $.06 per mile from purchase to when you first reported the issue to a dealer.

So you will be out about $2k
    Attorney - $1000-1500
Usage fee - $300-500 (assuming 5-8k miles on the truck).
You get check for the difference.

*The above is general discussion and not legal advice, always seek your own attorney for consultation regarding your concerns.

OV Tune is priced well! just cheaper than it would cost to lemon. LoL

Hmmm, I would note that mileage and emissions are not the same thing...

    Yeah
    I agree, mileage and emissions are not the same thing. But in many/most cases there is SOME sort of correlation (see above). And note that I was responding to this statement in post #979 (emphasis added);

I just picked up a used 2017 trd or, and see enough positive feedback to go with the ovtune. Just need to wait for it to be back in stock.

If you go with intake & exhaust is that something you should tell them when ordering or is it a one size fits all?

For now one size, and if you do add any of the exhausts / intakes on the market TODAY they aren't changing the characteristics so much that the ECU can't compensate through it's normal learning process. In the future OVTune will be opening up some customizations where you can send back logs of your rig and he can dial it in. Many folks have intakes/exhausts on the current tune and have no issues though

So a question when reading the details on the OVtune site....it’s says that this OVtune is only meant for OffRoad use.....not ‘legal’ for on-road use?

Not sure since that is the exact one from his instructions.
Originally I just flashed without anything in that box other than what is was defaulted to.
It also doesn’t say anything in the instructions about having to select anything in that box to generate the dongle serial number.

Anyone here in upstate Ny running ov tune, I would love to see how much it improved your driveability in our hill/ mountain country!

Ok..so I got my OVtune and installed the 87 octane and tranny TCU files in my 2017 Auto. Here are my impressions.
87 octane in the tank and in "Drive" not "ECT".

First the driveway test. I have an inclined driveway.
Before: The truck would lurch up the drive and then go into neutral and then lurch again.
Now: The truck will crawl up the drive nicely. Very cool.

Second the uphill 40 mph zone.
Before: The truck would shift into 4th when I reached 40 mph then lose power and speed. Then down shift to 3rd and accelerate too fast.
    Repeating this cycle. Crazy making!
Now: The truck will accelerate up to 40 very strong and yet smooth. The throttle is responsive. When it does shift into 4th it will eventually lose speed but when I add power the motor seems stronger and will accelerate without down shifting.

Third the 70 mph up the canyon test:
Before: The truck would have a very difficult time maintaining the speed limit of 70 up Parley's canyon from Salt Lake to Park City.
It would downshift into 3rd at times and the RPM's were way too high.
Now: The truck seems to have a lot more power. I can put my foot into it and instead of crazy down shifting it will let the motor do the work and hold the gear. I was doing 80 with no problems. Very few times did it down shift from 6th to 5th and the shifts were smooth not overly aggressive.

Overall I would rate this very much worth the $$$. I was seriously considering selling my truck, but not now!

BTW: I also installed a grill from CarID and a gen 2 skid plate!!! Couple dozen horse power right there!

So up a hill it holds 5-6 gear even under mild acceleration. I am wanting to go this route but I don't want to lose my warranty. But then again I would at least like my truck!-) gotta sell my SSPro first.
