Have you gotten the TSB rev1 trans shifting done? Whats the Calibrate ID number for your trans?

Stick to the right lane to avoid being run off the road. Pass in the left.

It's going to be hard to say "a trip of X distance should get Y MPG", or "at X speed, you should get Y MPG"... there are more variables that come into play.

Wind speed and direction - at freeway speeds, pushing air out of the way is what the truck will be working to do. The faster you go, the more work it's going to have to do. A headwind will exacerbate that proportionally. Traveling 70MPH into a 10MPH headwind will be the same as driving 80MPH in calm conditions. As a few have mentioned here, the 'sweet spot' for most vehicles at highway speeds is 60-65MPH. Getting above that will start decreasing fuel economy.

Tire pressure and rolling resistance will come into play as well. Unsprung weight and rotational mass factor in, at least a little bit. Smaller, lighter, skinnier tires will be more efficient. More stiff tires will have less rolling resistance than squishy tires will. That said, a lot of people run their tires at higher pressure. Personally, I run mine 2-4PSI higher than the door jamb recommendation. I do not recommend going much higher.

Mechanical issues such as alignment come into play. Air temperature, fuel blend and such come into play. Driving conditions come into play as well - hills, elevation changes, climbing, descending, etc. will all have an affect.

So basically my point is that it's very very difficult for any of us to tell anyone else what fuel economy they should be getting due to a huge number of variables that we may not be aware of and may not be able to compare to our own experience and conditions.

Just to add to this, I went on a trip about 330 miles each way and averaged about 19.8 MPG. Bone stock DCLB using cruise control. It was windy as well with some hills. It was from Long Beach to Mammoth lakes if anyones familiar with that drive. I have about 3k miles on the truck

Just offering advice pal. If you want mpg you'll be hanging out in the slow lane getting passed

This!! I ran my 2018 at 75 and on cruise on 100 miles and it wasn't real hilly but some decent wind at 20 plus and got 16.4. Did same run no cruise and 70 and got 19.8. Just took it for 30 mile in town and some back roads and got 21.6 with max speed 50.

Exactly. Running short errands drops my MPGs, but it is still better than the Wife's Forester.

I have to disagree. I average about 21.5 on trips over the passes. Of course, that counts the round trip. I'm just one data point though.

Saw a vid earlier today Where a guy was getting 5.8 mpg towing 5,000 pounds up a 7% grade with his Tacoma. I look at it this way. "It's not a Dodge".

Pretty sure it is illegal to drive too far under the speed limit in some areas besides it is safest to drive with the flow of traffic rather than impede traffic

This weekend I made a trip about the same distance, between Homer, AK and Soldotna, AK twice (don’t ask...) and my average mpg was 24.7. This is through some ups and downs, but with the cruise control set at 55mph. I think that anything 60mph+ really kills fuel economy.

Cruise Control is pretty crappy (this is on every other vehicle I've owned as well). Why it keeps on the gas while driving downhill, I don't know. I get way better MPG without CC.
