shaving foam from the bottom they take out a small center circle that takes most of the foam down to the seat frame, maybe leaving about 1/2" remaining foam. if they know what they're doing then they'll contour up & out from there to create the bucket. after that the foam goes slack so they refill it with light non-structural foam to take the slack and add a bit of soft cushion, this part is optional.

cost me $200 per seat. some guys have the skills some don't. i got lucky with my shop but I've heard from others who haven't been lucky.

Upholstery is a hell of a lot less than welding and fabrication.

It’s the perfect solution to 90% of interior complaints, and the last one anybody thinks of.

Excellent! I'll contact some upholsterers and see what they can do for me. Thanks!

Could the problem start with design engineers only average 5'2" in stature? I have to duck to get in mine and I have to contort if the included step is touched. Who needs yoga classes if you own a tacoma, you are good to go......

It's hard to tell how much you are going to like the seating posture in relatively short test drive, unless it is really bad. I would talk to an upholsterer.

Ha! My mind went straight to Hightower's solution as well.
