    That's a good question...it extends the range.

$1200 and it needs to ship from Australia. Mine was less than $600 or something.

I think it would be ~$850 USD since he likely was talking in AUS currency.

I kinda want to put a second tank like the first on the other side and then plumb and switch it.... But just may be a bad idea still

It probably wouldn't be too hard. You'd just need a toyota sending unit and pump. You could probably just tap into the EVAP system. My set up transfers from Aux tank to main tank. I would have done a switch but I already had a working pump and sending unit, just not Toyota. My aux tank, sending unit and fuel pump were $41 from pick and pull. I didn't see the point in replacing that with a Toyota unit that would cost a minimum couple hundred bucks plus it wouldn't fit my aux tank anyway.

Just like jdubh I pull a 28’ TT with my long bed. Been looking for a aux tank for a clean install underneath with no luck. I average 7.5-11 mph depending on conditions and surprisingly what part of the country I’m in. Seems southeast has better blends and I get better mileage. The weight distribution with sway helps a lot. Then I pump my air bags to 75psi to get the last little bit to level. Doing a lot of boondocking, I am loaded most of time at max weight. It would be nice to go more than 140-175 before stopping. Avg 7000-8000 miles a year with this setup.

A old thread I have seen gas tanks that fit in the location of where the spare tire mounted I can`t remember the amount they hold.

I have the larger tank from down under. Love the extra mileage it gives me.

I’d love a bigger tank but don’t want to go go overboard on expenses.

I tow a 20ft rPod TT that is a little under 4K lbs loaded. I’m getting 10.7 mpg so only have a limited (160 - 170) mile range.

It’s not just the added time for stopping for gas but dealing with getting the trailer in and out of a gas station that is the big hassle.

Maybe some five-gallon Jerry cans would be a better solution to an expensive aftermarket aux tank?
