Check out the pics at the bottom to get an idea. I'm sure this may already be on a thread but this is a DIY to bed line and paint your skid plate.( specifically on the second gen Tacomas)
    Steps
    1. Get under your truck and remove the 4 bolts that hold your skid plate to the plate frame.
    2. Take some heavy-duty degreaser and wash both sides of the skid plate very thoroughly to remove any debris or grime that may have collected on it.
    3. Once you've rinsed down the skid plate and dried it thoroughly grab some spray on bed liner or another rubberized protective coating.
    4. Spray down the entire skid plate with multiple layers. You should let the liner dry for a few minutes between coats
    5. Once you're satisfied with the thickness of the bed liner and it is dry, cover the front facing part with painters tape. (The part of the plate youll see once the plate is on the truck ).
    6. Take a Sharpie or a pen and draw out a stencil of what you want to be painted.
    7. Take an exacto knife or a razor knife blade and lightly cut out your design make sure not to press too hard so you don't cut through the bed liner and you only cut through the tape.
    8. Remove the inner part of your stencil so the bed liner shows and that is what you will be spray painting.
    9. Take your favorite spray paint and spray your stencil while it is on the skid plate. Once you've given your stencil a satisfactory amount of paint peel off the tape stencil to reveal your skid plate. Be sure to do so while the paint is slightly tacky or dry. Not wet.
    10. And for the final step put the skid plate back on your truck and enjoy

Well, that's not really a skid plate, just the factory splash guard.
