I bought a Karcher K1800 last year. I’ve used it probably a dozen times. No regrets, I’d get it again.

I'm liking what you're reporting. Although my current vehicles are not black, I've owned several so I know the struggle. As such I'll consider your opinion on slightly higher level than others.....no offense intended to anyone else.

I don't wash often because honestly, I don't like to wash/detail vehicles. Realistically I hand wash my truck and wife's car 2-4 times a year tops. I've entertained picking up an electric PW and foam cannon, but I really didn't like the idea of buying all the gadgets and expensive soaps just to have to continue hand washing.

We'll periodically utilize drive through car washes, but they're hardly worth the $10 as they leave suds everywhere, miss spots, and can cause more damage than good. We just use them due to convenience. I would much prefer to spray foam/pressure wash only at home once a month or so, and give a good hand wash when needed, assuming the outcome would be worth the investment. From what you're reporting, it is :hattip:

Now its time to decided on the best PW and foam cannon for my uses. I've already got a gas pressure for the heavier duty jobs.

The gun that came with my Walmart HyperTough 1,500psi electric has failed due to a crack appearing ahead of the grip/trigger.

Also....looking back at it I wished I'd gone with the 2,000psi electric.

I actually went with the Comet 1700 based on Matt's review: https://www.obsessedgarage.com/collections/comet-solutions/products/comet-static-1700-extra

The important thing to remember when shopping for a pressure washer, is that PSI is not the most important factor. Flow rate (GPM) is more important. Look for something that can move at least 2 GPM.

A machine that does 2,000 PSI at 1.2 GPM is about worthless. You're much better off with something that can do 1,000 PSI at 2.2 GPM.

I'm doing a wall mounted setup with a deionized water filter for spot free rinses. I'll post a thread showing the whole system when it's all done.
