This looks good!! Would yo be able to use plexiglas instead, it would be alot harder for some one to break in IMO.

Pretty awesome! My only concern is durability...mind reporting to us every now and again how it's holding up to use?

why not try covering it with rhino liner or one of the DIY kits availble online or at the discount home improvement stores?

Just wanted to let everyone know that I added a review to the original post. I've had it on for over 3000 miles now and traveled across the country from Arkansas to Colorado and back...

I thought of that too... But the Rhino liner spray from Lowes does not work on the foam... It melts it... I tried it on a small sample piece. I'm pretty sure any kind of rhino liner will not work... You even have to be careful what type of spray paint you use with the foam. I liked the Krylon H2O spray paint.

Has anyone tried making one of these?

I wanted to give a quick update:

I've had it on for about 5000 miles with no major problems... I did have to adjust the brackets I used to secure it to the front of the bed a little, but that is it. They started to bend down a little and allowed the front to pop up while driving... Bent them back down and no problems since. However I do not use this everyday, only when needed.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know which section? Hardware? I’m undertaking this project this week.
