    Hi everybody. Orlando, FL here
I just purchased my first mid size truck. I'm a former Ford mechanic and I'm used to a full size truck and between my F150 and F250 I never had smaller than a 37" tire. I'm reading that the biggest tire I can fit is a 32" or 275/70R17. Would the 3" coil spacer and 2" add-a-leaf help or hurt? I don't want to wear out my CV joints any faster than I have to and I don't want to get an alignment every time I go over a speed bump. Suggestions please.

Spend some time reading through the threads here. There is a ton of info on what tires you can fit and what lifts are best. I believe you can fit 255/80/17 (33”) stock on a third Gen. with some trimming and a lift, you can fit 285’s (also 33 but wider).

As far as lifts go, most will recommend avoiding spacer lifts. You will see a lot of recommendations for Bilstein 5100’s with OME lift coils.

Do some reading and find out what option is best for you.

Thanks. Also this is a lease, so I'm not trying to break the bank to mod the dealership's truck. I just want a little more tire bc my boss's stock TRD OR sits an inch higher and of course he always parks next to me

    Welcome to TW!

Former F150 and Ram owner here, I get it man. Tacoma’s only started to grow on me because of the time spent in automotive school(It was like toyota everything). But I don’t know everything, so here I am still trying to pick up on stuff I may have missed from school Lab.

Thanks brother, but I actually ended up getting Nitto Terra Grappler G2's 285/70R17 (measuring out to 32.7")
They do rub on full lock but the stance they gave her, is well worth a little less turning radius.
