I have keyless entry & push button start. I tried using button on the door and on the fob, neither worked. Am I missing something?

(and yes, I took the key out of my pocket to test it :D)

You can get an automatic starter and the doors are locked while the truck warms up. Or you can start your truck and use the key out of the fob to lock the door.

How cold is it where u are?
I thought it best to drive easily to warm things up.

Otherwise, yes.... remote start... its great for hot climates too.

You mean use the manual/metal key? Hm. I didn't try that one, but I bet that would work

    Truck stuff
Yup the key in the fob will manually lock the door. I prefer the remote start method.

95% of the time I do, but I think it's still just good to know how to

Get a block heater if you're that worried.
I'm in Canada, never had an issue

Otherwise use the key in the remote. I've done it. Start truck, lock other doors open drivers door get out, lock with key.

Truck will beep saying key not detected but won't turn off .

I'm not a fan of remote start as I feel they cause issues in the long run.

Yes. I’ve done it myself when I was in New Jersey and I had my dog in the truck and it was winter. I had to go into the store and with the automatic starter, it shuts off after 15 mins. Not knowing how long I would be (15 mins or less) I didn’t want my dog in below temps. I also have done it when it’s scorching hot in the summer, so I could leave the AC on. I think I’ve done it a total of two times, one time each but it works great.
