    the most recent one that i was involved was an armed robber who was known to have a scanner...so we operated solely on computer msgs and cell phones for like 4-5 hours sitting on his house...sure enough when we locked him up he had his scanner on and our channel programmed in

    it makes sense now. what i don't understand is my best buddy has a cop for a wife (which makes her and all the cops on the squad she commands my best buddies too) and he is tweaked he can't listen to what's going on to make sure she is OK, but he didn't think of it from her side at all.

    yeah my dad does the same thing and he was a bit unhappy when i told him we were going fully encrypted...but...it is what it is and officer safety is paramount
