so basically I keep hearing a loud rattling noise when under load at low rpm (like generally less than 2k) and I don’t know what it is. Sounds like a little pebble in a can or something and there is a slight vibration that I might be imagining. No codes or anything. Automatic tranny

I know exhaust heat shields like to come loose and make a very destinct sound at lower rpms. My truck right now has what I believe is a loose catalytic converter heat shield that rattles at slightly above idle rpm

    Could be detonation.

What grade fuel are you running?

I hear the same in mine. I thought it might have been pre-ignition or detonation and changed to 89 octane fuel and the noise still persists. I guess it might be the exhaust heat shield....

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
Sounds like your getting the spark knock. Mine still does it even with the tsb reflash. It's not as bad but I still notice it when I run cheap gas. Run premium (93 octane) and see what happens

I was worried it might be octane related so I ran 91 for a few tanks and it still made the sound so I’m hoping it’s an exhaust heat shield.. will crawl under there and start hitting things
