73k on my air injection system, it hasn't failed yet.

If you spend too much time on this site you'll never get any sleep.

A couple months ago a guy on here with an 05 was going to do his headgaskets "before they fail" because he was so worried. He had no symptoms or evidence of a headgasket problem.

150k miles on my wife's pump and foam was fine when I removed it for the uni filter mod.

To the OP IMO I would get the lower mileage. I got my wife's 2012 at 140k miles and not worried. She wanted the newer one after we test drove both. She really wanted the newer exterior and interior. But I wanted the older off-road with less miles.

have a little story, Today my associate was on the way to the airport to pick up a lady friend who has been away for about a month. On the way to get her the 03' had a small malfunction and died just about 1 mile away. The alternator belt snapped at some point and the battery died. Poor guy had to run 15 minutes to the airport because his lady friend had had an early flight and had already been waiting for about 40 minutes.
    :)

My thoughts, I am over this truck. its been good, the 4 door shortbed in silver looks killer with sr8's but it seems like one thing after another now. When you are working, dependability is important, maybe even more when you are trying to score the babes.

Anyway, been trying to get in touch with the owners of that 09'. They have had some offers... 2 at $13k. one at $13.2 and another at $13.5. I offered 13.750 but they ignored me. Now trying $14k. if they don't bite I think I will move on.

    I'm confused.

You're getting rid of an '03 with 175k because the alt belt broke?

Put a new belt on it and keep driving!

I just don't like the idea of having more issues down the road which may come with the age and condition of this particular truck.

In other words, this truck was not babied.

when I first got it for really cheap it smelled like apes, carpet was stained with red dirt, interior carpet and even some plastic bits show cigarette burns every where, the the hood is all dented from fat chicks laying out out trying to get a tan, was missing one of the factory wheels for when they got a flat, they fixed it but forgot the original wheel on the side of the road. hahaaha previous owners were donkeys man. I did make it quite a bit nicer with new carpets, seat covers, mirrors, headlights, just simple stuff, but its still has rippled body work, bent tailgate, small rust under plastic bedliner...I could go on and on.

this truck is a beater. I want something nicer, hope I cleared the confusion a little bit.

    cheers
    haha

Get the higher mileage truck if it has been maintained...it's barely broken in

Depending on the service records and if the previous owner of the 14 model had a long commute, it may be worth it to check out the 14. Itll definitely be an improvement for many years to come.

I sold my 07 prerunner for $14k it had 98k miles. Your getting a great deal for $14 on the 09 if you can seal the deal.
    Good luck

The low mileage truck is more likely to have mechanical issues from not being driven. Plus low mileage trucks typically are mostly all city miles and high mileage trucks are mostly highway miles. Highway miles are less wear and tear on a vehicle.
