    Hey Guys

Long time watcher first time poster. Hopefully posted in the right place.

I just bought a 09 taco TRD which looked like a great deal. There were people lined up to see the truck so I took a chance a bought it as is. 80-100 km down the road I get a CEL with cylinder 1 misfiring. I take it to my mechanic we go ahead and replace the plugs, fixed for less than a day. Then replace the egnition coils. Same thing CEL light stars flashing...

It then starts blowing white smoke out the tail pipe. Woo! blown head gasket. This guy has sold me a lemon. Trust me I know I wish I took more time to look over the truck for those are gunna tell me that haha

Right now I’m stuck with deciding between a huge labor job or replacing the engine if I can find a decent one.

All in all I’m looking for the communities advice on what to do here. Do the HG? Find an engine? Any other options?

I’m located in Vancouver BC Canada if anyone has something local they know of as for replacing the engine.

    Thanks all!

Maybe shop around and see if u can find an engine at a local junk yard, I’ve seen a few wrecks with engines still intact while searching for other parts.
