Show me your shell!

Here is my ARE cap i got for s steal at $300, used. Was already painted to match too. Leaks like crazy. But I've never added a new seal since i got it like 2 years ago. Hoping to seal up this summer for some truck camping with my kids .

 

What tent is that?

 

Its a napier suv/van tent.
Its about 7ft tall, really well made, it surprised me.

My leer 100xq shell came with my 09 when I bought it used. I have a slight leak in the driver side corner and had some leaks where the back glass was. The back glass leak I fixed, the weather stripping had started to come off the shell. I used some silicon (as a glue) and put the weather stripping back in place. The driver side corner I have not fixed yet. I think the seal between the bed and shell is starting to go bad. Just need to take the shell off one day and replace the seal. If you find a small spot where the seal is bad pull some of the carpet out and put a dab of silicon where the leak is. Just my .02 hope it helps.

 

Any pictures on the inside? Do you use the shell to sleep in or the tent?

Edit: Did some research, those are awesome and now on my list of things to buy

 

This van suv style fits so perfect over the shell. Ive used it in thunder storms with no issues.

 

Mine leaked around the rear glass the day after in put it on the truck. I was looking at it and you could see a gap between the glass and the seal. I adjusted the latch and the gap is gone. Hopefully that’s all it needs

For those interested in getting the new Waterport to mount on the bedrail inside the shell, works pretty good (just had to get 1/2" longer bolts and spacers).

 

Anyone remove the factory tonneau cover to put on a camper shell, truck is a 3 gen, 2018. Curious if I should get new bed rail caps.

 

I had a quote of $500-600 to color match, depending of the condition of the shell.

 

Finally got my shell in. Snugtop is including two USB outlets and fusebox now

 

This is my new Lakeland Predator truck cap. I had to have them take it back to fix it shortly after receiving it the first time because I found a small crack in the fiberglass, but everything should be done now. The Bedrug inside is pretty nice and I know the dogs will like it.

Now I just need the rest of the Yakima rack pieces to go in the rails I had them install.

 

Alucab canopy...........finally arrived and installed.
