I just got a 2018 Tacoma and not a fan of the front to back opening of the center console. I would much rather have it open towards the passenger. Does anyone know if there's a mod available or does it have to be a custom job?

good luck..i posted about the same issue about 1 1/2 years ago got no response. guess you and i are the only ones that think the way it opens sucks. trying to get to something while sitting in the drivers seat sucks with the lid straight up and your elbow hits it.

Wait, so like the lid would fold up towards you and you'd access it from the passenger side, or the other way around?

You could always try a center console from a 2nd Gen as it opens sideways.

I want a place to store my CCW with ease of access and the ability to draw it fast. The way it's set up now sucks!!!!

there's some threads specifically on that. for fast and easy access there are better solutions including custom mounts on the console side, seat side, and door side as i remember. search up..

Exactly. For fast draw, a center colsole isn’t your best solution. Even if you think it’s fast, under stress there will be more impediment

I had no idea there was such a need for people to be able to brandish their pistols while driving. Is it so you can shoot at the mile markers without slowing down?
