I love internet oil threads. They always turn into one of these: :crapstorm:

It really is simple, use an oil that meets the specs in the manual for your type of driving (normal or severe) and a quality oil filter, at the recommended intervals, and keep your receipts. It doesn't have to be so complicated.

You would think so, but the 0W-20 has a flat viscosity index, unlike dino oils. Also remember that your engine runs much hotter than the hottest day in Arizona. If anything you lose delta T out there for cooling. Thats it.

The shipping cost for regular folks like us (non-commercial accounts) on motor oil would be crazy. I'd say to use the power of Amazon and Walmart online or Costco to save maximum $$. $25 for 5qt is a damn fine deal that you're going to struggle to beat if you have to pay shipping from a group buy.

Also with 10k intervals, getting a group together near enough and before someone needs to do a change. . . Just way too much work there, IMHO, when Amazon can have it to me in a day or two of when I need it.

    Sorry!

Edit: I just want to say that there are folks who are happy to hand over this kind of cash for "motorcycle" oil:

Some of those prices are for just a liter or two. L-o-freaking-L! Most of the folks who put miles on their bikes still won't / don't listen to the arguments of using diesel oils.

What I'm saying is that I'll pay $25 for 5qts every 10k every time. Not to mention freaking $3 Toyota filters! Sign me up.
