Are these even rebuildable?

 

I think...the top of the shock body has a spanner, so I assumed they are.

 

I read somewhere said Bilstein has life time warranty? Is it true?

I've had them rebuild shocks before (not 6112s specifically, but can't see why they wouldn't be able to). Call Bilstein directly and ask, worst they'll say is no.

 

Bilstein doesn't like to warranty leaky shocks, says its normal to lubricate the seal. I wonder if the charge port is under the dust cover and what the rebuild kits are like. I'd be interested to see.

 

I'm interested in whether these are rebuild able or replaceable. If they are only replaceable, do we get a TRD replacement part for only the shock, or do we need to re-buy the Bilstein kit which comes with the spring...? I don't need to worry about it for 5 years, but would like to know eventually in that time.

 

So called Bilstein, they said they are the equivalent of the 6112 they make. But since they’re branded as trd they’re contracted with Toyota to NOT be able to service them. So you would need to find an aftermarket shop to do them. He did say that they were “take apart”.
