Has anyone purchased the 4 wheel parts leveling kit from pro comp and the wheel and tire package? They offer it as a kit for taco's in the off roading mags. Curious if it is worth the $$.

What're you planning on running on the rack? I've considered this to put a Yakima box back there for fishing rods etc.

I’m only running two bikes and in the winter a ski rack.

Im on the fence about this route. Looking to add this system to mount my rooftop tent and keep my bakflip tonneau cover. Do you think it is strong enough for a rooftop tent? Are they self tapping screws that held the rails in place to the bed?

I wouldn’t use self tapping on the roof, it the Tacoma does not have mounting capability use the method recommended from yakima to mount to a bare roof. Look up your year and the site will tell you what to buy. I think they’ll tell you to use the plusnut system, which I did for the rail mount.

I purchased the leveling Kit. Looks awesome on the truck. Wheels and tires I purchased through a local shop that installed the kit and did all the work.

I did 7-8 per side and it is like a rock! If you are going to do that you will need to order an extra set of plusnuts and screws.

I used the standard Yakima tracks and the naked roof application to the rails. Drilled the holes, filled them with silicone and that's it.

I know this is an old thread. But using the plus nuts on the plastic and sheet metal did yoj have any problems securing the nut? I talked to a rack dealer in town and they said it wouldn't work
