These are actually really cool, thanks for sharing. I still feel that they will be too big but it may be worth a shot. I don't know if I can personally justify the price right now, but maybe in the future.

So, if you have the Non-DRL models and you just plug these in does the Sequential Turn Signal still work, you just don't have the DRL?

It won't be quite plug and play, considering you'll have to chop off the DRL plug and splice together but my sequential turn signals work, and my DRL is the solid yellow. If I have the lows/highs on, the white DRL is also on.

How is the headlight output? Are you using hid bulbs or another bulb? All the pics I find are of only the drl and turn signal, but I really want to know what the output is like on the headlights. I have a pair in the garage that I just got waiting to be installed so before I install them i wonder what the output is like. I was going to order hid's for them if they work.

I put some halogens in, and they are absolutely still brighter than my stock. I have a friend who enjoyed mine so much that he put a set in his OR and he put in HIDs that I didn't use on my kit. They are extremely bright with HIDs on, but you will have to drill a hole in the caps that unscrew. After seeing his I will be doing HIDs when I get around to it.

I have had hid's in the oem headlights for the last year so it would be super hard to go back to halogen so glad to know hid's will work (even with little modifications) in these housings. My hid's show up today so I hope to install everything this weekend.

These are with the halogen bulbs that came with my set, nothing fancy and it *seemed* about 20% brighter than stock and seemed to go much farther,
the projection cutoff line seems to be more pronounced than stock also. For me, right now I see no need to go the LED or HID. I should have taken some Lumen readings with the stock vs these... oh well maybe someone else will take some readings.

Besides, us people up in the Snow-Belt need to avoid LED in winter... these lights can really ice up in the winter, with no little "heaters" in there they turn into "lightsicles".

Have not used the high beams enough to really comment on them.

Protuning sells them with a HID kit, so I don't see why you can't change them over easy enough.

We need to measure how deep the back pocket is to confirm what LED's / HID's fit without any/little modification.

I have read a couple places that led's won't fit because of the fan/heat sink on the back makes it too deep, but hid's should fit. I'll find out tonight when I try installing them into the housing.

Good to know the halogen's work in worse case scenario, but I must say the black housing on a black truck looks so much better and that's why I got them so that the black headlights match my black truck

Maybe I’ll just end up going with some Philips 6k halogen bulbs. Shame! I don’t want to give up my opt7 leds but I want these headlights. Blah

    Two questions here:

    1. Does anyone know if HID bulbs will fit in this housing for BOTH high and low beams? On the OEM Massive page they specify that their HID package only comes with HID for low beams... it’d be a shame to go through this much effort and money just to keep halogen high beams.

    2. I have automatic headlights— does anyone know if these housing will still work with this feature? I’m not sure where the sensor is located (I’ve looked but haven’t found any resources from Toyota or Tacomaworld)

Yes and Yes. Both low beam and high beam are same depth so hid's should work in both unless you have larger hid bulbs than I do because mine fit in both and

Auto headlights work just like oem housings. Nothing on the headlight switch changes after installing these. I believe the sensor is up on the dash, but that may be for the internal lights on the head unit and gauges to dim.

I have an SR and was interested into new headlights like these ones. For someone has 0 experience with headlights installation, little mechanical savvy and basically youtube to guide me for installation and the wire splicing; on a scale of 1-10 how hard would this be for someone like me to do? Also are there any other options besides these ones that would work for an SR? Thanks!

It definitely wasn't easy, but if you are comfortable changing out the headlights, that was the easy part for me. Figuring out the wiring was a pain, but there are enough writeups on headlight swaps at this point to walk you through the annoying parts (like getting at the fender headlight bolt). Overall i couldn't get them functioning like they should but I ended up preferring the way I got it working (yellow lights are on DRL, and whites only come on with headlight bulbs). I give my experience a 5/10 in difficulty due to the wiring that I had to figure out

Installation is really easy if you just take your time with the bumper and grille. I also have the SR so I run the yellow DRL which I like. Also, you don't have to splice any wires if you don't mind the LED bar remaining yellow. Only thing that doesn't run right now is the white light bar on mine. Avatar has a photo.

Appreciate the advice and I actually don't mind the DRLs looking at your pictures, ya it's going to be a summer project for me anyways so I'm going to take my time with removing everything, and I will have to get new bulbs right?

Depends. Mine came with a pair of halogen for low and a pair for high beams so I didn't have to purchase any bulbs, but I swapped out mine halogen for hid's so outside of that, I did not have to install or purchase any bulbs

For those who want the drl's at full brightness, I was able to make it happen.

I re-wired the oemassive drl/signal socket. Not ideal, but it works the best the way I want it to work so right now if the switch is in auto, the drl's don't work (yes I'm sure I'll get flack for this), but if I turn the switch to parking lights (where I want the switch 95% of the time), the drl's are full brightness. If anyone wants to wire it up the same, this picture shows you how I wired it up

Thank you very much for this tip. I like to drive with my led fog lights on, this way I can utilize the drl lights also
