    Hey all,

I’m sure this may have already been covered in a previous thread but was hoping to get a little advise. I’d love to get a couple of inches of extra clearance for my 2018 Tacoma Off Road and wondered if anyone had any recommendations that wouldn’t break the bank.

    Thank you in advance!

My budget pre-lift was $1500 for parts and labor.

$2650 in parts alone later... :anonymous:

If it is just a daily driver that does not go offroad (other than the normal dirt roads and what not) then you will be completely fine with a kit from rough country. They are not expensive, from a good company, and easy to install. You will get a few more inches to run larger tires and not brake the bank doing so.

Well on they cheap you could do a spacer lift from Rough Country for around $500-600. Although not highly recommend it will work, look good, and will get you a lift. It can cause other problems down the road especially with your rear axle and drive shaft. It's called axle wrap. Otherwise check out Headstrong Offroad. Check out their OME or Bilstein kits. Good quality product at a good price. Talk to Marie at Headstrong. She'll tell you what you want based on your future needs for the truck. And what I mean by that is if you ever decide to add skids or bumpers, winch, that can weigh down the suspension. She can help you with spring rates and shocks. Enjoy the new taco and yes the guys above we're right. Hide you wallet while you still can, or soon it will be empty. LOL.

Send a message to Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road and tell her what you're looking for. They have a variety of kits from mild to OMG expensive, it's all in what you are looking to do with the truck.

hahahaha!! I've had the truck for 2 weeks and spend most of my free time looking at mods I can add. My intention is to use this truck off road a couple of time a month so would need something that could do the job when I take it in to the Georgia mountains.

Looks like I may have hold off until i've saved some cash.

I held off way too long on mine, wished I hadn't once I finally got the lift as the ride is sooooooooooo much better. Really though, a lot of people use the Bilstein 5100 kits though. They aren't that pricey but the upgrade over the stock suspension is night and day. You can use your stock coil in the front and get an add a leaf for the rear.

Seriously, wheel it first and decide what you need from there on.

These are damn capable offroaders bone stock, find what you find to be shortcomings that you might want to dial up a notch.

The spacer kit is more around 250$ I believe, it also has the rear blocks tapered to alter the drive line angle to help avoid axle wrap. While they are not the most recommended, most people you see on the road have them and they are very cost effect. I cant bash on spacer kits for the cost of them and what you get.

Mine was $2000 for parts since I had free labor...then I couldn't live with my stock wheels and tires...so by the time I was done with it all I was almost at $4K. That was in February, needless to say I'm broke for the rest of the year as far as truck mods are concerned.

Yeah - I'm done for the year too I think. Unless I'm able to find some 17" Ray10s in the matte gunmetal... :anonymous:
